I’m back.

It’s been a while dearest friends. And I have been busy. A few weeks back I took the final exam of my degree. Equity and Trusts law. Not that it matters what exam it was, what matters is it’s all over, hopefully soon enough I shall be X X LLB. I’m not going to get all soppy either, it’s over. Time to move on in my life. I shall never forget the friends I’ve made here though, that wont happen.

Since ‘finishing’ my degree, I’ve been job hunting. I’ve applied for a few and had some fairly good feedback. I have had a few phone calls asking me for more info and inviting me to days which act as a group interview thing. I don’t actually care what I do for a job for the first few years. A nice salary and a degree of security is all I ask for now.

On the theme of ‘back’, Silk is back! For those of you that don’t know what Silk is, it’s a legal drama, and it’s excellent. I love it, I normally hate TV. But this is particularly good.

Another point I feel I should make is the issue of my URL. I got Tumblr when it first started a few years back, and picked this URL cause it’s awesome. It’s also mine. Please don’t message me asking for it. You’re not going to get it. Cheers.

Tom on Because of the Shame <3
Spin: You realize "Because of the Shame" sounds a lot like Bruce Springsteen's "No Surrender"?
Tom: It was intentional. A good friend of mine, C.C., was killed about a year ago. At her funeral, her mom told me that C.C. was really hurt by a song on New Wave, "Thrash Unreal." She took it that it was about her. Her mom made me promise to write a song to make up for it. So I went home and didn't sleep for days and wrote "Because of the Shame." When we used to hang out, we listened to Springsteen, so I wanted to write a song that reminded me of those nights.

It is apparent I am reblogging #2 a bit too much, but I cannot resist a bit of Parks & Recreation. I fucking love it. Best show on TV.

I love being home.

Casual night out with one of my oldest friends who I haven’t seen in forever, it was really cool. Looking forward to the gang reunion of sorts this Monday. Will be awesome!

Alan Turing is the father of computer science. He is largely responsible for development of the Turing-Welchman bombe, which effectively cracked Enigma-encoded messages during WWII. He created a formal definition of the algorithm and created the Turing machine. Without him, we may not have computers as we know them to be today.
In 1952, Turing was arrested in the UK for being gay. Instead of serving prison time, he chose the alternative– chemical castration through estrogen therapy. He lost all of his security clearance and could no longer work on his life career of cryptology as a result.
Turing’s favorite children’s tale was Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. In 1954, he was discovered dead in his bedroom. He had committed suicide by eating an apple soaked in cyanide. A memorial for Turing depicts him holding an apple- a symbol for forbidden love. In 2011, a petition was made asking the British Government to pardon Turing’s conviction of gross-indecency. It was rejected by Lord MacNally, who summarily stated Turing knew his actions would result in a criminal offense and therefore should have been prosecuted.
Mr. Turing, I’m sorry. The world can be a cruel place. You are respected and won’t be forgotten. The same can’t be said of many.

Thank you

to all you guys that are following me, I don’t do anything on here other than the odd picture and spout nonsense about my life. Time for an update on what’s going on right now I feel.

I should be packing for a start, my girlfriend’s birthday is in 6 days so we’re going back to her home for a few days before, it should be good.

I got some results back from my hard work I put in before Christmas, I got a 2:1! One of 2 people to get it, top 3 in the year. Exciting stuff, need to work by balls off before the end of the year. Aiming for the first or a 2:1. I would be extremely happy with either.

Some more career related news, I recently acquired a mini-pupillage. This is my second and I’m really looking forward to it. It’s a 3 day one, and I get another chance to see inside Liverpool Crown Court. Such a good place to go, and I can’t wait.

I know these are few and far between, but hey ho. I’m sure you’ll survive not hearing the ins and outs of my life.
